Software Development Engineer - Java

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine customer facing, Web 2.0 applications that are deliver great customer experience;
• Work within standard concepts, practices, and procedures associated with the Software Development Life Cycle;
• Work closely with internal team members to understand the technical execution of projects to achieve development goals;
• Assure execution of projects, working in conjunction with the development team;
• Provide support to services team;
• Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis;
• Create documentation of new features;
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs;
• Foster a success-oriented, accountable, and ethical environment within the company;
• Perform other activities and duties related to the software development role, as directed by management.

• Undergraduate degree required (graduate degree preferred), preferably in computer science or MIS;
• Proficient in Java, solid knowledge of J2EE, Java Script, Web 2.0;
• Experience with JDK 5, IntelliJ and Eclipse IDEs preferred;
• Minimum of 2-4 years developing Java/J2EE applications;
• Minimum of one year with Java Web applications preferred;
• Familiar with at least two of the following: Hibernate, Spring Framework, JavaScript, taglibs, SOA;
• Strong analytical skills required, including an understanding of interpretation of customer business needs and translating them into application and functional requirements;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts;
• Excellent client and customer relationship skills required;
• Strong presentation skills and proven presentation experience;
• Ability to adapt to change and take on new responsibilities.
