Product Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct Intelligent InSites product management and business analysis functions, objectives, and initiatives;
  • Communicate and collaborate (in a proactive manner) with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements, and deliver the following artifacts as needed:  functional requirements, product design specifications, and business requirements documents;
  • Elicit product requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis;
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user product requests from the underlying true needs;
  • Lead and direct customer user groups, and develop and define requirements from information gathered within these groups;
  • Manage the integrations between the company and its market partners, write requirements to implement these integrations;
  • Drive innovation into products through creative ideas and input to the technology team;
  • Research best practices for products and develop requirements to fit the company;
  • Analyze and research competitive products, market share, and penetration;
  • Develop new and improved specifications to enhance the company’s product line to exceed competitive specifications;
  • Use cases and screen and user interface designs to develop functional requirements;
  • Provide product management for all product releases;
  • Manage the launch of new products with respect to release communications, coordinating with the various departments and stakeholders, customer and partner training, and other launch activities;
  • Develop and write user interface requirements for products;
  • Be the liaison between the technology teams and support teams;
  • Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates;
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs;
  • Conduct studies and develop proposals/business models for new product opportunities;
  • Coordinate with sales team in gathering sales and marketing feedback to enhance product specifications;
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable, and ethical environment within the company;
  • Perform other activities and duties related to the business analyst role, as directed by management.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in MIS;
  • MBA, or equivalent education preferred;
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP) preferred;
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience required;
  • Experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required;
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of interpretation of customer business needs and translating them into application and functional requirements;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts;
  • Excellent client and customer relationship skills required.
